How the network changes the situation of education in schools

The most notable characteristics of the partnership participating in this project are as follows:

  • the teachers working in schools are also involved in teacher training and further education for teachers and vice versa
  • those teaching at colleges or universities either also work at schools or cooperate closely with them, and
  • are involved in the development of school curricula.
The clarification of concepts and figures of speech (which in music education are often confusing), the examples already documented and illustrated, the data base of existing COM projects etc. play an important role. They serve as a source of new ideas for, for instance, the development of curricula for music as a school subject and of teaching concepts and an improvement in the quality of teacher training with a special focus on lifelong learning. Easier access to documented, analysed and valorized good practice models will lead to new opportunities for the qualified further development of teaching concepts for all age groups in schools as well as for the training of music teachers.
