The World of Music: „European Primary Village“

In this project, the European dimension is reviewed up to standard, supported by a selective and value-conscious implementation of new media and technologies.

The connecting, shared and precious elements of all EU-regions are being mediated efficiently, integrated in process of rendering conscious.

Through the cooperation of regions in France, Germany, Austria, Ireland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia new ways, contents and goals in the professional development of teachers in play and primary schools – thus for children from 3 to 12 years – were disclosed in applied examples and concepts, including in musical education. 50 primary schools from 7 countries took part in this three-year long project.

A praxis-oriented communication platform made it possible for all partners to present their class models and make them available. Thus, new pedagogical strategies and methods were developed in the area of “creative learning“ and tested in the schools.

The creation of three modules in the area of continuing training for teachers is based on the results of these devised strategies and methods (teaching principle “inspection and action“). Supported by the implementation of new media and technologies in the realm of creative learning, 10 pilot schools could integrate the European dimension.

At the same time, a Comenius 2.2 activity was organised that allowed to integrate the results in the basic training of teachers within the different countries. Thus a direct association between the students’ different levels of learning and acquisition from play- and pre-school to the training and continuing education of teachers was created. All participants integrated the principle of lifelong learning from the beginning of the project onward.

Different follow-up projects have been initiated in several schools participating in the „European Primary Village“ project as part of the new LLP-program of the European-commission.
