Description

The aim of the proposal is the comparative study of the cultures through music and musical instruments. We have entered 21st century and our children – youth is being introduced to new technologies, which is their only interest during their free time. Under these circumstances, it is necessary to motivate our students to be aware of the elements of their historical development instead of making them simple users and consumers. The study of culture through art and especially through music and musical instruments is the most direct way to be understood. Common human characteristics – joy, love, sadness, death, the life in the city etc. have been studied through the special elements provided from the rhythm of each language, the sound of each musical instrument, the aesthetic collective conception of each native land.

Today in the United Europe it is necessary to meet and understand the culture of the surrounding cultures. Having the musical instruments as our compass, we will follow the steps of our predecessors.

Considering all the thoughts described above, we have created this group of schools from different countries of Europe. We will take the advantages which are provided to us through the Socrates Comenius 1.1 project and we will motivate our students and colleagues to seek elements referring to the music culture of each country that is participating in the proposal and we will exchange all the information. This way we will gather information that will help us to study and compare different cultures of European people and we will find all the elements that make them to look alike.
